“Normal”

The accommodation is spacious, the futons a bit uncomfortable, and the hot spring water was 42 °C. We couldn’t bathe, which was a bit disappointing since we came partly for that. We also couldn’t visit the public baths because the hotel doesn’t allow entry. Dinner was generous, and we had one of the best sashimi of our trip, but most of the food didn’t appeal to us, so I wouldn’t recommend it, especially since it’s a bit pricey. The water temperature isn’t part of the public system, and the dinner was the main downside.

“食事が素晴らしい。”

The meals were delicious, using local seasonal ingredients. I wish they’d also offer beers other than Asahi Super Dry.

“Parfait 😍😍😍”

Everything was perfect. It felt like a timeless moment. The welcome was simple and warm. The room was spacious and traditional, exactly what we were looking for, and the food was delicious, lovingly cooked and incredibly tasty. I would have liked to stay longer. The lady who runs the place is wonderful, and I’ll never forget this stop on our trip because of her.

A very kind grandma looked after us, served food, brewed coffee, and took us to the train station. Dinner was amazing. The bamboo came from a high mountain and the steak was from a cow fed on apples! The onsen was clean.

I felt very comfortable. It was a lovely stay in a traditional Japanese guesthouse with an onsen and fantastic food! The host was very attentive, explaining the meals, which was great for someone like me who isn’t very familiar with Japanese cuisine, and she even took me to Monkey Park the next morning. I could have left my luggage at the house during the outing.
