“Excellent location”
The shower is good and clean, and the location is excellent, but the en‑suite is too small.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the location is good. One room had a small kitchen, and there was a large communal kitchen with cookers, fridge/freezers, dishwashers and a small amount of pans/crockery. However, there was a lack of furniture: one room had no chair, bedside table, or reading light near the bed, so I had to borrow a slightly wobbly chair to adjust the blinds because the cords were high up. No tables meant nowhere to rest suitcases, and not all rooms had a chair. The kitchens were fine but lacked a microwave or washing machine, which would have helped a family group like mine or business travelers.

The location is excellent, and overall the rooms were clean with what looked like new furniture, but they were very sparsely furnished. The rooms were spacious but still needed more. The price was fair, but it did not match what was advertised on the booking site. Communication with the contact was poor or nonexistent. Our room had a massive damp issue; it smelled damp on arrival and the paint was peeling off in huge patches, so it should not have been rented out in that state. There was no air‑conditioning or fan, no bedside tables or chair even though there was plenty of space, and only bare‑minimum toiletries, tea, and coffee. One room didn't even have beverages, and there was no way to ask anyone or refill. I strongly felt it did not provide what was advertised on the site. Apart from the great location, I was disappointed with the rest.

The location is great, but the lack of a lift meant I had to climb 55 stairs to my top‑floor room, which was exhausting with luggage. There was no hotel parking and local parking cost 15‑20 pounds a day. The beer can on the roof blew in the wind and made noise that woke me up. The bathroom mirror was missing and the window latch was broken. My attic room 11 had low ceilings and exposed beams that bumped my head, and the pictures online didn’t match the room. In summer it was hot; the staff promised to bring a fan after I asked but never did. They offered a different room, but moving all my luggage again up and down the stairs in the heat was not ideal, so I went elsewhere to cool off. The hotel only communicated by text or phone, there was no front desk, and check‑in was electronic. I paid £10 for late checkout, yet cleaning staff entered the room an hour before checkout while I was still in the shower.

The location is right on the hoe, which is ideal. However, there was no fan, and during the latest heat wave it was a bit uncomfortable at night; I tried everywhere and couldn’t get one. A small table and chair would have been a bonus for computer work, but I managed.
