“Overall a lovely hotel, offering a good nights sleep and a good breakfast.”

Breakfast was very good, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were all friendly. The location was excellent, close to the railway station. However, my in‑laws were in the room opposite, we were on the third floor, and the lift only goes to the second floor. My father‑in‑law has mobility issues and struggled with the stairs.

“Good value for the money for the one night stay”

The room was okay, but the windows could have been sorted and cleaned properly; they were hardly visible, otherwise the room was very clean, and the bathroom was excellent. We didn’t have breakfast because we were catching a train at 7.40 am and didn’t have time. Cleaning and sorting the windows would have made a big difference to the room.

“Lovely hotel with a great atmoshpere at the foot of the Lanke District.”

The location was great and the staff were very friendly. The room was nicely decorated and the bathroom was very modern with a good shower. Nothing. All good.

The staff were very friendly, the bed was super comfy, and the room was spotless with a great shower; my wife loved the fish & chips and said they were as good as any she'd had. The location is perfect for the railway and heritage centre. The building’s age means there’s no lift to the upper floors, which could be a problem for older guests, but the receptionist helped us move from the third to the second floor for just one flight, and she suggested we call ahead next time so they can try to place us on the first floor, which does have a lift. Comfortable seats are placed on every landing, and a small improvement would be signage at reception indicating where the restaurant and bar are.
