The building itself is lovely and the décor quirky, with friendly and helpful staff. The “self‑serve bar” is a funny concept (a fridge with drinks, no tap service). Breakfast was nice but nothing special. We’re grateful it’s dog friendly. The location is nice if you want a quiet stay with nothing much around except the beach and one pub that may or may not be serving food. The 5‑star rating feels questionable because paint is peeling off the walls, the room and bathroom are basic, no extra towels or robes are provided for the hot tub, and there’s no guarantee of an evening meal. If you’re lucky enough that food is served that evening, don’t expect many choices (for us it was oven‑cooked pizza or go hungry!). A bit of background music in the restaurant/bar area would have been nice.

The staff were phenomenal! I enjoyed the hot tub and the breakfast was amazing.

I got breakfast that was decent and included vegetarian options. The bathroom had bath mats both on the floor and in the tub, and the lighting was fine. There were glasses and tumblers for brushing and rinsing, but the staff only asked if we needed supplies and didn’t actually clean the room, like the bathroom.

The building itself felt stylish and interesting, with rooms that were large and high‑ceilinged, giving plenty of space to unpack and relax. The breakfast room was bright and airy, furnished with heavy, substantial pieces. We enjoyed a magical evening pizza on the rooftop terrace. The only downside was that the old single‑glazed sash windows rattled a bit, and the unshaded light bulbs were rather stark.
