“Expérience resto + hôtel formidable. Nous recommandons +++”
A small room that was beautifully decorated and very cozy, with high‑quality bath products. The breakfast was truly exceptional, especially the citrus marmalade. If you’re light‑sensitive when sleeping, especially in summer, contact the hotel directly to book a room. We were unlucky and got the only room out of five that lacks proper blinds in the bathroom (there’s a glass partition between the bathroom and the room), and the bathroom faces east. The alarm was quite early. These details aren’t listed on the booking site.
“Hôtel à fuir, restaurant ok”
The restaurant was pretty good. The establishment isn’t a hotel; the rooms are tiny and you have to pass through the restaurant to reach them.
“pas mal”
The garden was a highlight. The toilet window wasn’t screwed in and the shower didn’t hold water. Check‑out was at 11 h, and breakfast ended at 9 h 45.
“Satisfaisant! Mon mari était content.”
We were already familiar with the place because of the restaurant’s concept, and we wanted to stay there for my husband’s birthday. The staff and the estate hosts gave us a very warm welcome. Nothing else to add.
“Heerlijk gegeten, heerlijk geslapen.”
Les Bruyères is more of a restaurant with hotel rooms than the other way around. The staircase to the rooms opens into the dining room of restaurant Ruche, which has a green Michelin star and the chef grows her own vegetables. Sommelier Frank is skilled at fermentation, so it’s worth trying his non‑alcoholic juices and drinks. The room itself was clean, comfortable, had a good bed, and a lovely bath under the rafters. The surroundings can be described as Bloemendaal, Wassenaar or the Gooi of Paris, with homes of famous French people that are now museums. One of those is the house of composer Maurice Ravel in nearby Montfort‑l’Amaury. The hotel’s entrance is a bit hidden.
