“Great location”

We loved the location and the ability to walk freely to many of the city’s main sites including the Asian Cultural Centre (ACC). Breakfast was ok given lack of other options open in the morning. While the room was clean and mostly comfortable, the layout was awkward with a glass wall so close to the edge of the bed. Staff at the front desk were indifferent and not very helpful. We were also reminded breakfast finished at 9.30 … which meant you were required to leave the dining space at that time

The location is great and the room is spacious, but the staff were not welcoming. Breakfast closed at 9:30 am; I arrived at 9:20 am and was told it was closed, then I asked for just coffee and got one. At 9:29 am a Korean gentleman arrived, the staff ignored him and he served himself a full breakfast. At check‑out we waited a long time, no staff at the desk and no apology when we finally got there. In the evening we were not given two room keys. The hotel advertised a “landry” service, yet none was available. The photos made it look like the room had a jacuzzi, but it was only a bathtub.

The location is good, but the room counters were dirty, and there was dust and spider webs everywhere.

The breakfast was tasty and excellent, and the location near the subway and downtown was very convenient. Walking distance to nearby attractions, the records office, and museums, with many shops around for shopping. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to solve problems, especially the front desk and breakfast staff. Shower water was hard at other hotels, but here it left my skin smooth. The price was very reasonable; the 3‑night, 4‑day rate including breakfast for two was better than any other hotel. Overall very satisfied. The first day’s assigned room had a brown stain on the toilet seat, the mattress cushion was flat, and the shower enclosure glass was warped, so I requested a room change. The staff swapped rooms the next day, and I stayed in a better one. If the first room had been better, the impression would have been stronger, but the staff’s quick response made the rest of the stay pleasant. The standard room has a wall view and is dark even with all lights on; if you want better light, a pricier suite with a jacuzzi and view would be preferable.
