“A wonderful place to spend a few days!”

Excellent location in the quiet hamlet of Hermeray, but close to Epernon (where there are regular trains to Paris and Chartres) and Maintenon (very interesting chateau and restaurants). Very easy driving in the area (quiet roads) and walks in the forest nearby. We found this to be an excellent base to visit Versailles (ca. 30 minutes on the train) and Chartres (by car). We spent 4 nights here and there was plenty to do. Armelle is a lovely host - kind and generous. We were welcomed with a drink in the garden. The accommodation was of a very high standard - we were in a large bedroom upstairs - and the breakfast each morning (in the garden) was delicious and plentiful (including 'Yorkshire-pudding style' crepes from the oven!) It was great to have access to a lounge shared with just one other room, with tea, coffee facilities and water. All in all, this was the perfect start to our vacation in France
