Located in the city centre, ibis Styles Caen Centre Gare is situated on the edge of the Orne River, 500 metres from Caen Train Station. This hotel features air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, and heated bathrooms with bathtubs or showers. A 24-hour bar serves snacks and a buffet breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and multi-grain bread.

The location and the unobstructed view were great, and the room was spacious. The sink was clogged when we arrived; we reported it, but no repair was done. They said someone could fix it that evening, but we declined because it would be disruptive, especially with our young children.

The breakfast staff were very friendly and went out of their way to satisfy us. The room was pleasant and very clean. I would have liked a small water bottle or a fountain on the floor so I could quench my thirst.

The place is very convenient, close to the parking, especially when making a stop for Brittany. The large room offered a view of the Orne.

The hotel’s location is its biggest selling point, within walking distance of everything I needed during my stay. The breakfast was great too. This was my second visit, and even though I’ve moved back to Latvia, I’m looking forward to returning to Caen. The only thing that comes to mind is the security code in the elevator.
