I was disappointed that I couldn’t leave my luggage after checking out in the morning.

“Don’t stay at the hotel if you don’t have a transport.”

The place was spotless, but it was far from the station and there were no taxis or other transport options, so we had to haul our bags 2 miles back to the station ourselves.

The staff were friendly and the hotel offered free bicycles for three hours, and the Fujisan Garden was nearby; the idea of a rooftop observatory was nice, though the entrance and presentation of the roof could use a lot of improvement. However, the room’s cleanliness was lacking, loud music came from the hallway, the “window” faced the corridor, the room was very bright at night, and groups of rude, noisy people made it hard to rest; the price didn’t match the quality, and the four‑star rating was misleading—an honest two‑star hostel would be better.
