The room structure and cleanliness were good. For what’s offered in San Pedro, the room we stayed in at Illauca provided a very comfortable and clean stay. First, the distance from the center: the hotel is about 15 minutes on foot from the main street of the city (Caracoles), which is a problem because the walk is in a more remote neighborhood with little light. Second, noise from the neighborhood: one day there was a party in the neighboring building with sound that made it impossible to sleep, and we had a tour at 6 a.m. the next day. We contacted a staff member who managed to move us to a room further away, but there was still a lot of noise and no concrete solution from the management. Third, no coffee before tours: almost all tours started before coffee service, so during our 3‑day stay we never had access to coffee because we were never in the hotel during the coffee hours. The departure service they provide is a “kit”/“snack” with juice, a cereal bar, and chocolate.

“Very nice hotel in San Pedro de Atacama!”

The room was really clean and comfortable; we liked it being a bit outside the center, the nights were quiet, and it was only about 10 minutes on foot to the center. The breakfast was excellent. It was a bit chilly at night, so a fan heater or a heated blanket would have been a nice addition since the air conditioner can’t be used because of energy regulations.

The staff were very friendly and dedicated; nothing was missing, everything I liked.

Honest, clean, friendly. The terrace was super nice. We didn’t mind the short drive or walk to Caracoles. Excellent value for the money.

The staff were extremely attentive and helpful at all times; the front‑desk lady let us stay past the checkout time without any problem because we were returning from a tour after check‑out and had a flight back to Santiago.
