Fox and hounds starbotton

The spot in Starbotton is gorgeous and the staff are incredibly warm. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. The fire roared and the bar area was cozy. The rooms were spotless and well presented, and Shelley went above and beyond to settle us, even giving us a dog towel for our wet pup. The food was delicious and plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

“Enjoyable”

We had a lovely room and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good but not outstanding, and the bar doesn’t stay open late.

“The best of the traditional English pub”

It’s a beautiful traditional pub with a log fire and great home cooking. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. There’s a good selection of beers and other drinks. The staff were lovely and they offered bike storage. We liked everything.

“A fantastic Yorkshire Dales rural pub”

I’ve stopped by this place a few times on long walks for a drink, and this time I stayed overnight. It far exceeded my high expectations. The food was great, the room was comfy, and the shower was excellent. The fire in the bar area is fabulous for walkers, and it’s peaceful at night with no late bar noise. I’m a cider drinker, but they have a good selection of real ales. The staff and locals are friendly, and walkers can meet others to swap trail tales. Absolutely nothing was missing; it ticked all my boxes.
