“Nice inexpensive hotel in heart of Vail village”

Breakfast was fine if you enjoy cold boiled eggs, though it wasn’t excessive. A minor annoyance was that the staff started cleaning tables with dirty plates and other items right in front of us.

“Great location, great price and nice big room!”

Breakfast was good—nice offering and easy to grab downstairs. The room stayed warm with no thermostat, so we left the door open all night to cool it down.

The place has a great location and a very relaxed vibe. The shower and bathroom could use better ventilation.

The location, authentic Austrian feel, spacious room, and friendly staff were all excellent. The only downside was the lack of AC.

I live in Summit County and often enjoy everything Vail offers, but rarely stay overnight. The Gramshammer has been in my memory since childhood yet I had never slept there until now. It was awesome—amazingly located, yet the old‑school charm might be lost to those who don’t appreciate 80s Vail. Loved my stay, felt like home, and I’ll definitely recommend it to fellow mountain folk. The late‑night bear encounter reminded us of our place in the circle—perfect. No complaints.
