“Ótimo!”

Rodrigo, the host, was very friendly and quick to reply whenever we asked. The room and all the hostel’s spaces were always very clean. The location made pickups for the passes easier, and it’s relatively close and quiet to walk to the main street, Caracoles. Everything was great.

The location on the main road, at the top of the hill with great views of the snow‑capped mountains, and the good kitchen facilities were positives, but the room was very cold with no heating, and for several days it was cold and rainy; I had to stay in bed to stay warm or leave the hostel to sit in the sun outside. I asked about a bus back to Calama and was sent a link to Kupos that was all in Spanish and said there was no bus that day; I messaged the property owner on WhatsApp but received no reply, so I had to book another website to get the bus back to Calama.

Everything was fine, the accommodation is clean, well‑located, offers great value for money, and the kitchen has everything you need for a few days.
