“Not for me”
Close to town, but the place smelled bad, had old furnishings, junk, a fire hazard, an outdated bathroom, and an old kitchen.

The staff really trusted us as guests, which was a great feel.

The hostel is handy for train arrivals, just over the road from the station behind the garage, and it has a quirky vibe you don’t see often. The toilet and shower room are clean, and the kitchen comes fully stocked with a fridge, microwave, cooker, washing machine, pots, pans, and more. The lounge is huge, featuring table tennis, games, and books, but no TV. The bedroom is simple yet clean, and the WIFI is solid. The wooden steps up to the hostel might not suit everyone, and the outer door is locked from 11.30pm to 5am, which could be an issue for some. The random piles of various bits and pieces, sheets hanging to dry, a skeleton on the wall, and worn chairs could be charming and quirky for some but not for everyone.

We were close to the train station, arriving late in the afternoon, and the bed was super comfy; it was the perfect launchpad for the Snowdonia way, so I’d definitely come back.
