“Had its pros. Had its cons. I still enjoyed my stay and thought it was good value”

The volunteers were friendly, the pub crawl was awesome, and the location was good; volunteers helped out and the luggage storage was a real bonus. The bed wasn’t made on check‑in, the one I was moved to had stains, the shower had stains, overall cleanliness was lacking, the shower was cold two or three times (okay for summer), and the bathroom light sensors didn’t detect you while showering, so I showered in the dark.

The spot was pretty good, the bed was quite comfy, and I had requested a specific bed location in advance which was kept. The downside was that the bar below the room gets noisy late at night, the hair dryer in the bathroom is broken and the staff just said it’s only available on another floor, and the shower water is hit‑or‑miss – sometimes hot, sometimes not.

“A lively and social stay in beautiful Porto”

This hostel was the most remarkable I’ve ever visited, with fantastic staff, lively social spots, and a great location that let me explore Porto, meet new friends, and return each night to a comfy place; the only downside was that the room was locked out the first night, but the staff handled the situation quickly and kept me updated.

“Hostel sporco e fatiscente”

The welcome was a plus. The common relaxation area and the dehor were nice, and the staff did everything to make you feel comfortable and socialise. Hygiene and cleanliness were totally lacking: the rooms smelled of sweat and dirt even with the windows open and the fan on full blast, the mattresses were black, the blankets were dirty, the bathrooms were filthy and rundown, and the fridge didn’t cool and had been left full of spoiled food for months.
