Quiet location, overcomplete furnishings. The double bed is 1.40 meters on the narrow side.

The location was gorgeous, not feeling close to a big city, and the loft served as a comfy base for a few days.

The spot was great—about 1½ miles from Balerno, so it stayed quiet and truly countryside. The Hayloft itself was spotless and nicely decorated. Susan was always reachable when we needed anything, which was reassuring. I’d heard the shower had low pressure, but that wasn’t my experience. I’d also read that the property ran out of hot water for the bath, yet they fixed it by boiling a couple of kettles and topping them with warm water, or by waiting 15 minutes for the water to reheat; either way, it was no issue. I’d suggest the Balerno Inn for Sunday dinner. Exceptional. The only downside was a few flies, which is expected near a farm.
