This charming former tailor shop turned budget lodging is run by Francis, a friendly owner who clearly cares about his family‑owned business and loves chatting with guests about his hometown; the place sits right in the center, stays spotless, and even though our tiny room had no windows it stayed cooler than any other stay because the air‑con hits the right temperature instantly—perfect for a one‑ or two‑day visit to Malacca.

The hotel sits close to the city center, check‑in and check‑out are easy, and the rooms are quiet; however, there was no blanket so we were freezing at night, the bed was hard, and mosquitoes swarmed both the common areas and our room.

The location is amazing—just a few minutes’ walk to the old town and Red Square. Francis, the owner, is super friendly and took us to a local spot for a proper breakfast on our last day. The rooms are very basic but great value and impeccably clean, and the shared bathrooms stay extremely tidy; some guests might want to bring a sleeping‑bag liner for the beds.

Everything is simple, very clean, and well‑located, and the owner is quick to respond (though we never actually saw him). For the price, there’s nothing else to add.
