I liked the location; even though it’s out of town there’s plenty to do in the evening to finish the day. The staff were always smiling and polite. It would be nice to see some heritage since it’s the home of IHG.

Located in Centrum 100 Business Park, the Holiday Inn Express Burton Upon Trent by IHG is situated on the A38, just south of Derby and the A50 spine road. Both East Midlands Airport and Birmingham Airport are within 30 minutes' drive. Secured parking is available. The hotel offers en suite rooms with free WiFi, work desks, TVs, and tea/coffee facilities.

The breakfast was decent, but the plates were smaller than I expected. The room was cold because the window had been left open all night, so I had to crank up the heating.

The hotel is new and clean. The breakfast wasn’t the best, but it was acceptable.

Overall it was good. The drawers didn’t offer enough space for clothes.

The rooms were surprisingly spacious with plenty of space saving storage. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Slightly disappointed with the breakfast. Breakfast service finished at 10am. We got to the serving stations at 9.35am. I'm vegetarian and there were no grilled tomatoes left. I asked if there were any more coming out and they said "no". So I could only have scrambled egg and baked beans. I was offered the vegetarian sausages but don't like the flavour. I was disappointed there were no mushrooms on offer
