“Do it for the experience - The Original Royokan”
It's an original Royokan, not touched since the 1960's but it's a great experience. Onsen is hot, breakfast is purely Japanese (and lovely). If you've got bad knees or back probably not the place to stay (some accommodation is on a second floor with a narrow staircase). The Mummasan who owns it is absolutely Beautiful, speaks very little English but manages to get the message across and was quick with some snacks and a cup of tea when we returned from our day long excursion. We probably paid top ¥, ¥41000 for 2 nights but it's an experience I'll never have again at 67 years old. Go for it!. Upstairs toilet (very very small)
