“Never Again”
The location was great for Anfield, but that’s the only good part. We arrived around 12:30 am after a four‑hour trip, only to find the key‑box code we’d been given didn’t work. We stood in the hallway for about three hours, trying to get into the paid room, and finally got in around 4 am after calling the host. The host later said the box had been changed but the new code wasn’t sent to us. While we were stuck, another guest filmed us and her roommate tried to help with the code. We deny the accusations that we shouted, swore, or ripped the security box cupboard off – the cupboard was already loose and fell off while we were trying to open it. When we finally entered, the room hadn’t been cleaned – wet towels on the bed, the bed unmade, a toothbrush and toothpaste left in the sink. The next day, after my wife showered, a cleaner walked straight into our room without knocking, which shocked her. The host apologized and offered £100 as a goodwill gesture plus our £80 security deposit. We were then told the £80 deposit was being withheld because of the other guest’s allegations. All we wanted was two nights away and a pleasant stay, but we spent hours in a hallway at night, entered a dirty room, had our privacy violated, and now feel blamed. Great location, but a terrible experience. I would never stay here again and can’t recommend it.
