The host is very friendly and supportive, giving us travel tips and even a surprise breakfast when we had to leave early. The hotel is quiet, the rooms are comfortable and aesthetically designed, and we had everything we needed. The only downside was that it was hard to find places to hang wet beachwear for drying.

Superb stay at Royal Beach. The hotel is located in the centre of Trincomalee, a 2 minute walk from the beach and on a quiet side road so there it is not loud. The rooms are super nice and all have both an AC and a fan so it is always very cool. Both of the owners are absolutely lovely and offered us use of their motorbike, a cold beer on arrival and even offered to arrange us food when nothing was open. Would 100% recommend a stay to anyone looking for a nice, quiet place in Trincomalee
