“Five star location for budget travelers to London, & the only night noise are Cathedral chimes!”
The location was great, in a reasonably safe part of the city. The canteen was a good size, but I wish there had been a coffee‑making area. I didn’t buy meals because I found them a bit expensive; I only wanted a small light breakfast and didn’t want to pay for a large cooked breakfast. I liked my room’s location and was happy that I didn’t have to climb many stairs to get there. I also appreciated that my request for a lower bunk was honored because I have arthritis and the top bunk would have been impossible. After staying in many hostels (both YHA and private) I really didn’t find much that I disliked about St Pauls hostel. I had wanted to stay there for several years because of its proximity to the Cathedral and the area. I didn’t see any activities, tours, or BBQ dinners, which would make it even better, I think. I’d also love to hear from YHA about hostels for older adults/retirees, and whether there are any that are most suitable, and if there is a senior discount. Elder hostels are the future, I believe.
