The location was good, the room was clean and the staff were friendly. The breakfast area was very conventional and the food was ordinary.

The hotel’s location is excellent, about 250 m from the island bus stop and the same distance to the city centre. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Our two‑room apartment was great.

Bacon and scrambled eggs were superb! Coffee was always hot and plentiful, with additional coffee machines and a tea station. On the second day there were raisin pastries, which were also very good. The jam selection could have been more varied – strawberry and black currant were rarely available, and there was never salmon. No fresh fruit such as bananas for the cereal. I’m not sure if the four‑star criteria were met for breakfast. The dining room and restaurant were tucked away, which made them cosy and you could always find a quiet spot. The shower seals should be cleaned weekly for limescale and soap residue. The cleaner seemed overwhelmed by the many arrivals and departures, and there was still a full ashtray on the balcony (hidden in a corner) from previous guests. On a Saturday nothing was cleaned, and the bedding was only changed after 9 days upon request. The “old‑hand foreman” didn’t do much better, but he did make sure we received champagne and a dinner as compensation.
