BeFree Hostel - Self-Service

The place is cheap and cheerful, but the basement room is noisy and lacks AC. The staff were unhelpful, the online check‑in was clunky, and the device was suboptimal. After a long journey, that added stress was unnecessary, and the overall experience lacked any personal touch.

First, I want to thank the whole facility and staff; it was a lovely stay. The location is excellent, the facility is clean with a pleasant soap scent, and our rooms were generally nice. The only issue was that we had trouble scanning the QR code—sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t.

“Skip this place”

The bathroom and kitchen were relatively clean. The lack of reception or on‑site staff leads to unmonitored issues such as check‑in problems/QR code glitches, guests smoking in bed, and guests sleeping in shared areas. There is staff available at the hostel five minutes away, but walking there in the middle of the night is a hassle. The beds are lined with a rubbery foam to prevent bed bugs, but it’s not breathable and feels very hot—yet I still saw bugs in bed. Definitely don’t book a stay here; it’s not worth your sleep or money.

The accommodation was wonderful, with a modern interior that really appeals to young people—my two teenagers were thrilled! Everything was very clean, neat, and tidy. As for the location, it’s better to take public transport to get into the city centre, but you can also walk if you wish. The only downside is that entry is by QR code; if your phone dies or you lose internet, getting inside becomes a real problem. It’s not very comfortable, so plan ahead. Overall, we were satisfied with our break! Thanks for allowing us to leave our luggage before check‑in and also after.

“My opinion”

Good kitchen. beds do not creak. 1.Online check-in failed, and I wasted time trying to check-in online. 2.A hostel guest with stinky feet. You can imagine, how terrible it was to sleep in the same room with him. The guy, instead of getting treatment, preferred to suppress his stinky odour with deodorant
