Great location, very clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfasts and no crowds; after a previous stay we asked for a garden room and it was very quiet. The overall standard was a bit below average – the doors were painted white, clean and sealed but not impressive, which is odd given the new furniture.

Central location, but also noisy (many police vehicles use the street with sirens); the rooms lack air conditioning, which was a problem in this hot London summer – something to keep in mind. Breakfast was fine, the underground parking is a real plus in London, though it costs extra, but that’s acceptable. The staff were very nice; we checked out a night early and the refund was credited correctly.

Close to Theatre Street, so even if the musical ends late you can walk home; the nearby park (Russell Square) is also appealing, and a single subway line takes you to Heathrow Airport.
