“A fuir, extrêmement décevant”
Nothing good, because nothing matched what was sold to us. We paid 1 944 € for six nights at the Alaya Beachfront Tulum, expecting a luxury suite as described in the listing. The room was far from that category: its overall condition, maintenance, and equipment were very disappointing. We left after only two nights due to numerous cleanliness, maintenance, equipment, and service issues, but especially safety concerns because the lock had been forced and not repaired. We had to find another hotel and pay again for the remaining four nights, which greatly increased our total cost. The door and its locking mechanism were heavily damaged, making us worry about safety. The property wasn’t secure enough, as access was open from both the street and the beach. Additionally, the beach bar, shown in photos as a paradise, was closed during our stay. Cleaning wasn’t done on the second day and towels weren’t replaced. Despite photos, videos, and reports sent during the stay, we didn’t get a refund for the unused nights. Given the price paid, extra fees for another hotel, the room’s condition, lack of security, and unavailable services, we absolutely do not recommend this place.
