“Good location.”

The location is solid, but there was no shower and no breakfast.

The location. The host was rude before I even got there I asked for an early booking in he said £20 I explained I may not make it so leave it at 3pm he replied saying as he doesn’t have my bank details he doesn’t want to hold the room and I have an hour to reply that was at 1.37am in the morning? Luckily I rang at 9am to confirm but still my morning started on a stress and worry of no room. On arrival he said he left 2 keys but didn’t only 1 the sides were dirty the desk was dirty I did take photos The bar don’t

“Tired old place . Won’t go again.”

Close to the centre and opposite Wetherspoons, the water pressure was good so the shower worked well, but the place needs refurbishment; the photos on the website are from 20 years ago.

“Lovely place, great location”

The staff were friendly, the beds were comfortable, and the room was lovely, though it was a bit pricey and the stairs are extremely steep.

“Disappointing.”

The location is great, but I stayed in Room 4, which looked shabby and didn’t match the website photo; the paint on furniture and walls was damaged and dirty, wallpaper had tears, though bedding and towels were clean. The bathroom had a large bath but no proper shower, the radiator leaked, and there was no ventilation system. The room was chilly even on a warm September weekend. There was a warning about possible noise from the bar, which was audible but not too loud. The staff were friendly and helpful, though not always present. It’s a shame there’s no breakfast.
