The self‑catering set‑up was handy, with coffee and tea in the sitting room. The room was attractive, roomy, and had a sitting area; the bath was modern. It was very quiet. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were friendly. The table fan didn’t provide enough airflow on a warm night, making sleep harder; a taller fan might help.

The Ivory room was huge and comfy, stocked with everything you’d need for a night or longer, and the place was spotless. The bathroom was more than I expected. Breakfast, served by Kerry, was great and we barely had to wait in the dining room. I’d stay again for sure. I can’t think of many negatives, maybe a wider tea and coffee selection, including decaf, would help, but I brought my own. There was no staff in the building at night, so no food, but I knew that and packed some myself. We could have gone to a pub, but we chose not to.

The room was comfortable, though a bit warm. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and I saw more of them than before because a tour group was staying. It would have been nice to have dinner available; with a Naturetrek group there, offering that option shouldn’t have been hard, especially since everything else was closed on a Monday evening.
