“Leider kam für uns kein Wohlfühleffekt zustande. Wir fühlten uns nicht Willkommen.”
We complained about the room and were able to change it. The food was very tasty. The housekeeping and restaurant staff were genuinely very friendly. Breakfast was limited, and hot items were only available on request. We were dissatisfied with the room because it was heavily worn and had a narrow staircase. It was also very noisy. We were told it was because we booked through Booking and therefore received a poorer room.
The location is good for visiting the southern part of the Black Forest, and the ground‑floor restaurant offers a solid dinner option. The room had somewhat dated furnishings and carpeted floors, and the east‑facing window could not be covered, letting the first morning sun flood the room. Breakfast was a bit rough, with a selection of jam jars that were infested with wasps and hard to reach. Finally, I must report that upon arrival someone filled the door of my car with chewing gum; the responsibility is not the hotel’s, but it was in the private parking of the restaurant/hotel, so there is some indirect responsibility.
