The hotel's proximity to major tourist spots is a huge plus, and the tram stop is just a short walk away.
The room itself was a great size, beautifully decorated and spotless, which was a big plus.
The harbour view from our room was stunning, but it was a shame that some other aspects of our stay didn't quite live up to the hype.
The staff were super friendly and helpful, always willing to lend a hand or answer any questions I had.

“Convinient and great location above a super market and central to many sightseeing locations”
We stayed in the apartment, which worked well for our small family of two kids. The kitchen and dining area were functional, and there was a separate bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom felt a bit cramped, but it was acceptable for a short stay.
“Regular”
The location was fine. The breakfast we had agreed to be ready for take‑away at 6:45 am was not prepared as promised.
“La Smart TV no funcionaba bien.”
The location was fine, but during our five‑day stay the smart TV performed poorly, the Chromecast didn’t work and nobody tried to fix it, so we could only watch Norwegian TV.
“EXCELLENT HOTEL!”
Breakfast was excellent, and our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and an extra sofa. Free tea and coffee were available at reception, though the supplies weren’t always fully stocked. There was nothing we disliked.
“Posizione eccellente e vista incantevole. Bagno, comfort, pulizia e metodi di pagamento da rivedere”
The central spot, just a few metres from Bryggen, the fish market and the funicular, was convenient. I stayed in a superior room on the fifth floor that was very spacious. From the room I could see the boat landing and the Bryggen houses, which was lovely. The bathroom floor was heated. The receptionist girl who gave me a heater on Saturday night and the receptionist boy who brought me water on Sunday night were both very welcoming and kind. The first encounter was not ideal: when I arrived Saturday late afternoon, I was asked to pay in advance, so I requested an instant bank transfer or cash and a bill at the end of my stay, but the receptionist refused all my requests. I asked to speak to a manager, but was told that managers do not work in Norway on weekends. The hotel room is spacious, but the design, while amusing, feels a bit outdated. The double bed is very small, with a spring mattress that is uncomfortable. The carpet throughout the room is not a hygienic choice. There was no minibar, making it impossible to keep drinks cold. There were no wardrobes, only a coat rack, which is insufficient even for one person on a short stay. Only one side of the bed had power outlets. The bathroom is basically in the room: there is only a glass door separating it from the room, and the shower has a frosted glass that faces the bed. This results in a total lack of privacy when using the bathroom, and turning on the bathroom light at night definitely annoys the person sleeping in the room. The walk‑in shower had a faulty drain, flooding regularly and spilling water onto the carpet. The cleaning was insufficient: when I first entered the room it was tidy, but there was a slight dust layer on all surfaces, and the window was dirty. The ground floor hall, bar, and reception were permeated with kitchen smells. Even reaching the elevators required passing through the breakfast self‑service area, which was not hygienic and unpleasant. The room temperature could not be adjusted independently. It was a bit cold, but the receptionist gave me a heater.
