The breakfast was fresh, delicious, and plentiful, and The Oaks felt nostalgic with a rich history; the location was perfect and the setting was very quaint and quiet. Our room was gorgeous, with beautiful furniture and an amazing fireplace—thank you. Because we stayed in the off season, the property needed a little TLC; nothing serious, but it was noticeable.

“Honestly, quite a bargin. Updating would make it a touch more inviting.”

It was easy to find, but we couldn't fully enjoy it because it was dark when we arrived. Although the original character was quite evident, it truly could use some updating. A small fridge on an unstable bench in our room threatened to tip over when opened, and a larger soap dispenser would have been appreciated.

“Nice Victorian home in a quiet neighborhood close to all the sights”

The breakfast was good even though we aren't big breakfast people. We didn't realize our bathroom was a little bit down the hall, but we made it work for our one‑day stay.
