“Schönes Hotel für Besuch der Messe oder Merkur-Spiel-Arena”

A nice hotel in a residential area, very quiet. Close to the Rhine, the trade fair grounds, and the Merkur-Spiel‑Arena (25‑30 minutes) which is ideal. The tram stop is also within walking distance, providing good access to the city center. After the concert we were still at the bar at about 12 am. The breakfast was a bit sparse and no additional items were added, which we didn’t find entirely acceptable for the price.

“I like the staff”

The place was spotless and had a classic feel, but everything else was a bit off.

The building is pretty, historic and has character, but the front door of the room isn’t well sound‑proofed so you can hear all the hallway noise.

“Zufriedenstellendes Hotel wenn man einen Kurzurlaub hat.”

The central spot between the train station, city centre and the Merkur SpielArena is great, but parking can be tough and our room was on a multi‑floor stairwell with a slanted roof that made it hard for taller guests.

The bathroom is large and the rooms are nice, but our top‑floor room got scorching hot at almost 40 °C outside, so the AC had to run full blast all night just to stay bearable, probably giving me a cold. The photos on the booking site didn’t show it was a top‑floor room, and if we’d known we’d have asked for a different room. We were there to celebrate a birthday, and given the not‑exactly‑cheap price it was a big let‑down. We sweated the whole time and couldn’t enjoy the stay as we’d hoped. There was a coffee machine but no pods.
