Great breakfast, short walk to town

“Great weekend in Whitby and stay at Pinewood House.”

It was a really comfortable stay. Breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay again.

We liked the location, the room was lovely and cosy, really clean and luxury homely in a tastefully decorated way, comfortable bed, piping hot shower, biscuits replenished daily, vegan biscuits was a lovely surprise, plenty of tea things, mini fridge was very useful for us for our oat milk etc. The gentleman at breakfast was so lovely - welcoming and friendly and super helpful, and wow the breakfast itself was absolutely fantastic - fabulous fresh fruit selection, cereal, cold juice, yoghurts incl vegan friendly, paints of tea and toast, a great selection of cooked breakfast options including a full vegan which was delicious, my husband tried the full English and also variations of it including the scrambled egg - everything was quality and cooked to perfection 10/10. Luckily it was my husband who had the initial 'welcome' and handled it better than I would have, we were early and had popped in for a parking permit and it was apparently a bad time, very busy and inconvenient. It wasn't that much better when we went back at our allocated time but the lovely gentleman at breakfast time made up for everything and we must've just caught the lady on a bad day maybe, hope she's ok. Can't fault the whole rest of our 4 night stay it really was fabulous!

“Lovely break in a lovely part of the world.”

The breakfast was excellent, with enough choices to suit everyone. The owners were very friendly and obliging. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of storage, and tea, coffee, etc. were replenished daily. There was nothing to complain about.

The breakfast was very nice, generous, and the service good. The room was decent but not special in any way, so it didn’t feel like a holiday. We were greeted very strangely. Without even saying hello, the host said “you owe me money” (the automatic transaction had failed, apparently), and then continued in a pretty cold way without either introducing himself or asking who we were. The other host was lovely.
