The location was great, the place was well equipped and there were plenty of towels. A hamper or a bottle of wine would have been nice for a birthday celebration.

The lodge’s location and hot tub were positives, but the lodge wasn’t cleaned when we arrived, the phone numbers in the folder went straight to voicemail, we had to go to reception which had phone numbers on the outside of the building to tell them the problem, and we had to wrangle the owners too. Cleaners arrived within 10 minutes but it felt like a rush job; they weren’t there long. To be honest the lodge needs a full deep clean – the Liverpool carpet and rug are filthy, the internet wasn’t the best the lodge provided, the photos must be from some time ago, the lodge needs some TLC to get it back to the way it should be. It wasn’t cheap for 2 nights – a shade under £500. I would not return, unfortunately.

The park and facilities were lovely and the hot tub was great, but the lodge carpet in the living room was dirty, the kitchen cupboards were smelly – I had to re‑clean and wash pots and pans on arrival, the windows were dirty with full handmarks all over, the wallpaper in the twin room was torn off, the headboard was hanging off in the twin room (my husband re‑hooked it onto the wall), and springs felt through the mattresses on the double and one twin.

We had a lovely stay at Lemon Tree Lodge. The lodge was clean and comfortable. There was a bottle of wine, cookies and a hospitality tray with tea, coffee and hot chocolate – perfect for a cup when you first arrive. We all loved the hot tub. This was a perfect relaxing break away. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. We would have liked the small sports bar to be open for convenience, although we did enjoy walking to the restaurant a little further away.
