The room was huge and in a great spot, just a short walk from the train station, which was super convenient. However, the style was a bit old-fashioned and there was a lingering smell of cigarettes that wasn't ideal. Overall, it was a decent place to stay, but could use a bit of an update.

The staff here were absolute lifesavers - we relied on translator apps to communicate, but some of them spoke pretty good English, which helped a lot. They sorted out taxis and tours for us with drivers who were honest and friendly, and breakfast had a great selection of Chinese food. I'd say to anyone complaining about the lack of Western options, maybe this isn't the place for you. The room and bed were really comfy, and the manager gave us a top tip for dinner.

This hotel was great, with super friendly staff who were always willing to lend a hand - and they even helped us book a taxi to the Danxia geopark, which was a big help since we had some trouble with local taxi drivers. The location wasn't right by the train station, but it was actually closer to the geopark, which was our main reason for visiting. One downside was breakfast - it was all Chinese dishes like noodles and stewed veggies, and could have done with some more European options.
