Plantation Retreat is a real hidden gem in Sri Lanka, not because of its location but because of its people. From the instant we arrived, Sarath and Deepthi greeted us like family. Deepthi cooked what could be the best home‑cooked Sri Lankan meals, full of love, flavour, and tradition, turning every dinner into a memory. Sarath walked us through his spice garden, proudly displayed his antique collection, and encouraged us to slow down and truly experience his creation. Surrounded by jungle, greenery, and wildlife, the property radiates a peaceful energy that’s hard to explain but impossible to forget. Every corner is decorated with exquisite taste, making it feel unique, personal, and deeply connected to nature. He even built a Sri Lankan steam bath in the on‑site spa and gives incredible massages himself, completing the feeling of total escape. Travelers rarely remember only the places they stay; they remember how those places made them feel. At Plantation Retreat you don’t just stay somewhere beautiful—you feel at home.
