It’s a gorgeous, quiet spot, and the staff are incredibly friendly. You can soak up plenty of nature and even watch the sunrise over the mountains.

“Peaceful and rewarding stay”

The place is very peaceful and I love that staying here supports their community projects, like the health centre and orphanage. We had everything we needed, the staff were lovely, and the food was delicious. The accommodation is simple but well equipped; the wooden bed in our room made a bit of noise. It’s located about 2 kms off the main road via a dirt road, so finding it was a little tricky, and it isn’t close to anything else in Mbale – but if you’re after a peaceful escape, it’s perfect.

“Beautiful environment”

After a long day, the space was relaxing and welcoming. The hot water was fantastic, and the homemade food was delicious. If you’re lucky, you might even spot an avocado from the tree for breakfast! The only downside was the limited breakfast options—there wasn’t much fruit or variety.

We had a wonderful stay in Salem; it’s an absolute haven of peace and comfort amid nature. The staff are very kind and attentive. We’ll definitely come back.
