The staff were polite, and when we reported the issue in the first room they arranged a room change. The hotel’s location is good for drivers, and the facilities look pleasant at first glance. We had a string of problems in one night. In the first room, after a normal shower with the box closed, the bathroom floor was completely soaked because water had leaked in large amounts from the shower area into the room. Reception was already closed, so they initially suggested we use the two pool towels in the room to dry the floor. After we insisted, they switched us to another room. In the second room, we found a large number of ants on the bed. It was late at night and we had just moved all our stuff from one room to the other. In the morning, we discovered another inconvenience with breakfast: it is served at a restaurant outside the hotel, about 13 minutes on foot. Reception had told us the location and distance, but not that the walk includes uneven paths and a large bridge on a highway, which was unsafe. The description on Booking says “the accommodation serves breakfast,” but it doesn’t state that it is served at another venue. The breakfast is à la carte, as noted on Booking, but the options were very limited: for example, when choosing an omelette, we couldn’t also order a fruit bowl. Too many problems for a single night, especially given the excellent rating of 8.9 we found on Booking.
