Nestled at the confluence of the Sjoa and Gudbrandsdalslågen rivers, HI Sjoa offers en‑suite rooms with free Wi‑Fi and a shared kitchen. Guests unwind in a fireplace‑lit TV lounge or use on‑site barbecue pits. Located under an hour from Rondeslottet and Besseggen, the hostel arranges river rafting, riverboarding, and canyoning, with Otta, a supermarket, and a gas station just 15 minutes away.

The dinner we had on Saturday and the breakfast were both really nice, definitely worth trying. The views and the peace and quiet were incredible, and the outside area was really nice. The bathroom door doesn’t close properly, and the room feels a little sparsely furnished, but you have everything you need, so overall everything was great!

It was a bit late, but the cozy warmth from the fire pit outside lit up the darkness. The lack of breakfast was a problem—no breakfast at the end of September, which wasn’t mentioned in the booking. The faucet in room 14 was dripping everywhere and needs fixing.

The accommodation was in a fantastic spot, away from the noise of a city and close to a fast‑moving river. The kitchen was great for making dinner and breakfast.

Breakfast was very good! The place is cozy, with a fire in the fireplace in the breakfast room. The beds were a bit soft, but that was fine. I initially got a bit confused because Hi Sjoa is identical to Heidal Rafting; maybe put a sign with both names?
