“Budget and decent for the adventurous kind”

I liked the free breakfast and the outdoor/indoor chill spots. However, on a few mornings I tried to use the toilets or showers and found them closed for cleaning; I think mornings are not the best time for that when everyone needs the facilities. Our room had a standard key lock instead of a code pad like the other rooms, and we only had one key for two guests, which didn’t make sense. Once we were locked out because the internal lock was old and had clicked into a locked position on its own, and it was hard for staff to contact the owner or find a spare key.

“Nach einer Nacht hat man absolut genug.”

The breakfast selection was good and the reception lady from Germany was fine. However, there was extensive black mold on the wall next to and under the sink, everything seemed very sparse, there was a strong hashish smell everywhere, I didn’t realize it was a youth hostel, and the bunk beds squeaked and wobbled a lot.

Cleanliness was poor—the carpet was dirty, the toilet was two floors below and unclean, everything felt very old, and the price‑performance ratio was bad.

The “deluxe” Doppelzimmer Zimmer smelled extremely moldy and the open window didn’t help at all, giving the whole place a worn‑out look; we were told our shower might be faulty because others complained the water was too hot, yet that wouldn’t matter since we could use the communal bath, but I had to pay extra for my own bathroom, so it wasn’t a bargain; the kitchen where we could make breakfast was very outdated and untidy, the plastic tablecloth was stuck, and although everything was supposedly available, the pan was so bad that everything stuck to it; the entire house clearly needs renovation and many areas look dirty.

“Práctico y funcional”

I was greeted with genuine warmth and enjoyed chatting with fellow guests, but the old-school vibe felt a bit subdued.
