The small scale and personal treatment by the staff, plus all the facilities being luxurious and comfortable. I can’t think of anything else.

Zino's is a beautiful, peaceful property with fantastic views over the surrounding area. All the staff are excellent, friendly, helpful, and efficient. The breakfast was a selection of fresh breads, fruits, meats, and cheese with a hot food option, served on the terrace and a wonderful start to the day. We dined one evening and it was excellent and good value. Staying at Zinos is amazing if you want a relaxing break. There was nothing wrong with the hotel itself, but we were disappointed with the location for restaurant options and should have researched it better. The hotel is not in the main part of Ponte de Sol and can only be reached by car; we thought we could walk, take a taxi, or even a bus to eat at the great restaurants they have, but unfortunately you can’t. There are three restaurants a short walk from the hotel, but I would not recommend eating in them (worst meals I have ever eaten); the ones in the main part of Ponte de Sol were excellent. If you have a car, the hotel is in a good location to reach the various sights around the island.

The building’s charm and the fact that it only has 10 rooms create a very calm and pleasant atmosphere; the height gives a lovely view from the nice terrace, ideal for a drink at the end of the day. The private, gated parking (we received a remote) guarantees every guest a spot, which is very appreciated given the place’s limited size. The front‑desk staff were friendly. The breakfast served at the table and complemented by a buffet was very good. The attic room had no windows except two small slits, so it was not great for enjoying the view, though it was still bright, so it wasn’t a big deal. The biggest downside during our stay was the service at the restaurant and bar, which was handled by a single person. The first evening’s meal we chose at the hotel was disastrous: we had to wait over 1 h 30 for our dish, even though there were only five tables of two people. The kitchen’s slowness that night was catastrophic. The server that day was very friendly, and it was clear he did his best to satisfy everyone while feeling uneasy about a kitchen that wasn’t keeping up. The dish was good once it arrived. I think that in trying to offer a very intimate setting, the hotel got trapped by understaffing during such moments. We didn’t eat at the hotel the following days because that first meal was a disappointment. On the second day, the room was only prepared between 14 h and 15 h, which I found too late. Despite all that, it’s a charming hotel, and if I had to do it again, I’d return because the overall experience was still good.

The stay was fantastic, cozy, and quiet, perfect for a silver‑anniversary trip with kids. The balcony that belonged to our room was a bit small.
