Location was fabuloous for both sights and the train station. Breakfast was excellent. Appreciated the antiques in the room. But the building is, in general, a bit rundown

The location was great for the City Centre, my family in Cowley Bridge, and within walking distance of St David's Station, and we liked the quirky decor. It felt like a hotel with faded glory that could use a refresh; I’ve stayed there at least 5 times in the past 12 years. When the breakfast was made to order it was much better, with a great selection like poached eggs, kippers, and smoked haddock. The switch to a buffet meant the food wasn’t as good—one morning the beans and eggs were dried out by the heat lamps. On the second morning the chef cooked for us because the buffet was gone, and that was far better. The bathroom had an unpleasant sink drain smell, and there could have been a bathmat and maybe two towels per person.

Breakfast was great and the location was ideal for the train and town centre; nothing else stood out, but the quirky vibe of the hotel is exactly what I enjoy.
