This is the fourth time we have stayed at the Compass Rose, which shows it is an exceptional property. It is a welcoming historic home, roomy and charming. The breakfast is consistently excellent with a good array of choices.

The spot’s spot‑on location made it a breeze to get around, and the place was spotless and tastefully furnished. Only snag was that we were fortunate enough to snag a front‑parking spot; others might have to hunt for a spot in the rear lot.

Breakfast was tasty, and the night was quiet and calm—ideal for a chill night near Plum Island, right in Newburyport’s walkable area. Huge thanks to the Compass Rose and the staff for making it all happen!

The place sits in a great spot, just a short stroll to everything. It’s clean, warm, and welcoming. My room was roomy, super clean, fully stocked, and comfy. No issues at all—will definitely book again!
