I arrived at the Royal Oak only to find an abandoned building; I’d been driving from early morning to the F1 races, had no idea the actual accommodation was in another building, was exhausted, and my phone battery had died. A heads up would have been much appreciated, and quite frankly necessary. I drove home to Nottingham, spent £315.00, and left feeling worse off—nothing like what I expected.

The hotel was shut down a month before I made my booking and three months before I arrived. After traveling six hours, I was extremely disappointed to discover this upon arrival.

I can’t say anything about the property because it is closed! After taking my payment, they informed me the day before my arrival that they were closed. The fact that it’s closed yet still listed is unacceptable.
