“The Greek Villa - leider unter allen Erwartungen”
We stayed only one night to reach National Park Phu Kradueng, and it was already late, so we wouldn’t have stayed otherwise. The Creek Villa is now very run down: the lake is unkept, the planned campground isn’t mowed, and other buildings are gradually falling apart. Upon arrival, three women who live next to the holiday homes greeted us; they speak only Thai and can’t say a word of German. The “hotel” was empty and we were the only guests. The rooms are very shabby, mattresses already sagging. Electricity is constantly fluctuating, affecting light brightness and AC strength. Repairs are visible and poor. The shower in one room was cold. Breakfast was served in the former restaurant, which had a vestibule and a kitchen counter. The kitchen was full of all kinds of trash. Breakfast was brought on plates from the opposite house of the ladies. There were fried eggs that were already cold and not properly cooked. In an old kettle in the kitchen, our kids found some animal feces. The dining room still had a few old pictures of the owners, but it looked like the hotel had been empty for a long time. On the way behind the property, warning signs said “no entry” and fines. You can’t go into nature there. There was no service to scan our passes; we had to send them to the owner at check‑in. We asked where we could eat; the owner recommended a restaurant 15 km away. The pizza was an underbaked yeast dough with mayonnaise as cheese, and the Thai food was bad; we’ve lived in Germany for a long time, so it didn’t work out. We were also asked for payment after we had already paid in advance.
