“Le paradis 😻”
A bungalow tucked away in the jungle with a paradise view. The wildlife is present, which is normal given the hotel’s layout.

The sea view and the customer service from the team

Hidden from the city centre, a quiet gem with beautiful views. Fantastic staff and service. There were plenty of snails to try on a small reef just off the shore. We saw countless fish species and blacktip sharks.

There was no night staff when I needed help at 2:00 am. I couldn’t sleep in the room because a mouse was there, so I had to leave and wait outside until morning – it was a bad night. Also, there were very few halal options at the restaurant.

The location on Long Beach is dreamy, one of the most beautiful spots on earth, and the staff are helpful and friendly. However, if Phi Phis Long Beach is truly one of the most beautiful places, why must travelers to Southeast Asia make concessions to western standards? We were very frugal, backpackers, but a price over 100€ per night should still offer decent value, which this resort fails to deliver. What once was built with love has been merely maintained for the last 20–30 years, with cracks everywhere. The property feels run-down; it didn’t disturb us much, but many other guests complained. The rooms are dated; cables dangle from the walls. In the bathroom the toilet paper holder fell off, the toilet seat was loose, the rainshower head couldn’t be used due to a faulty valve, and on day three the instant water heater burst in the middle of the night. All outlets are cracked and no plug fits; the TV has three channels, all without signal. The balcony railing is better left untouched because paint flakes off onto your hands. Walls are damaged all around. The air conditioner above the bed blows icy air, which is unfortunately necessary. The outdoor areas are shabby, though the vegetation is nice. Breakfast supplies the basics; hot dishes like bacon are ready at 6:30 but not kept warm, and the selection is very limited. The staff are friendly and try to make the best of the situation. In Thailand, 30€ per night would have made me accept all this as a gift, but a “resort” charging premium rates must at least provide a minimum level of quality. The resort’s management is disastrous; the bosses are completely blind. Neighboring properties have been extensively modernised in recent years, and despite a beautiful view, this cannot compensate for everything. Tip: ask for a bungalow close to the beach! The upper ones are sometimes 30–40 metres above sea level, and the slope is very steep.
