“Wonderful back to basics camping/glamp experience”

The location is great for those craving a remote camping vibe, and someone has clearly poured a lot of effort into setting this up with quirky touches all over. The hobbit‑hole bedroom was wonderful and magical, internet worked, and solar power was excellent. Fairy lights everywhere, and using the open fire on a tripod was a blast. The area was sprayed with citronella and tea lights were provided to keep mosquitoes at bay; it was sprayed and topped up regularly. It was lovely and quiet, and I hardly saw anyone else all week. I used the recommended local garden centre for a good breakfast and found a nearby coffee shop/roastery called Garage at the hill’s base on the last day (it looked closed but was open). We loved it, but we’d have struggled if the hobbit‑hole bed hadn’t been so great. This site is 6 miles inland from the map pin. The edges are getting tiring, and details like cleaning under the bed (dead socks, a lot of dirt) were missed. Pans weren’t cleaned inside and were unusable. The shower was almost unusable on its own, with only a curtain and no way to hang anything or keep out nats and mosquitoes because it was open at the top. We should have brought more of our own supplies; a lot of stuff was provided but not listed. The access road is long and bumpy—fine if you go slow, but it’s overgrown and scratched my car badly. You can’t really walk anywhere off‑site safely or quickly, so be prepared to drive everywhere.

The location is absolutely gorgeous, the amenities are great, and I felt safe and secure. More lighting near the toilet would help.
