Beach Hotel Split

The staff were so lovely and friendly, the views from our rooms were amazing, and the small complimentary breakfast was very tasty and thoughtful—highly recommend for a quiet, relaxing atmosphere 😊. The only issue was that our TV didn’t work, but we wouldn’t have used it much anyway.

“Tranquilo, relajante, idilico”

It’s a family hotel with very few rooms; our room had a beach view and it was truly luxurious. The place is beautiful, with direct beach access, and although the reservation didn’t list breakfast, they prepared a daily tray with pastries, fruit, kefir, etc., each day a new surprise, making it amazing to have a small breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea before heading out or going to the beach. The staff were very friendly and helped with everything you needed. The only downside was that even though it’s only 7 km from Split, the road connecting Podstrana to Split is very traffic‑heavy; we rented a scooter to avoid the issue, but if you drive and want to shuttle between Split, you could spend a lot of time on the road. Another surprise was that they don’t accept card payments, so you’ll need cash not just for the hotel but also for restaurants or leisure spots.

- Some staff were nice and polite - The proximity to the beach. Our stay at Beach Hotel Split was an absolute nightmare. The biggest issue was that the hotel insisted we pay the entire stay in cash, something that was never clearly disclosed when we booked. We only received a private message the day before check-in demanding cash payment. This put us in an extremely difficult position. Coming from Sweden, we had not planned to withdraw such a large amount of cash at short notice. After withdrawing the money, our bank blocked our card as a security measure, leaving us effectively cashless for the rest of our trip. The way this was handled felt completely unacceptable and highly suspicious. If a property requires payment in cash, that must be made absolutely clear before guests book—not sprung on them privately the day before arrival. The insistence on a large cash payment also raised serious concerns for us about why payment could not be made by card and whether the transaction would be properly recorded and handled for tax purposes. We cannot say what the reason was, but the whole arrangement made us very uncomfortable. On top of this, the facilities were extremely disappointing. There was no kitchen and not even a convenient washroom near reception. Overall, the experience was stressful, poorly communicated, and far below what we expected. I would strongly advise future guests to confirm the payment method, whether they will receive proper documentation or a receipt, and all available facilities in writing before booking. We certainly would not stay here again
