We stayed at Kolochava Eco Resort in August; the best format for a Kolochava getaway, with an amazing view of the Stream, offsets most negatives, yet the place still has plenty of shortcomings that need staff training and error correction. **Positives** – The location and grounds offer incredible scenery, a large, nice area, and a nearby walking trail. The room has a good mattress and outlets on both sides of the bed, plus plenty of towels. The pool is decent for relaxing, with drying ropes near the houses. The restaurant has a nice variety and the food is generally tasty. The service is very friendly, and free drinking water is provided, which is very appropriate given the issues that follow. **Negatives and moments for improvement – Accommodation and building condition** – Poor sound insulation (can hear footsteps from neighboring houses, likely due to the foundation), and very squeaky floors. Rooms need more care and attention to detail: a router hanging from an outlet in the middle of the room, scab on the sink, clogged shower drain, broken toilet lid, sagging front doors, and windows with poorly working hardware. Cleaning before arrival was only superficial (dust on surfaces, plumbing not thoroughly washed). Because of rain, all five days the tap produced brown water, so drinking water was very useful. The shower had to be accepted as is. **Lack of cleaning** – During the stay the house was not cleaned. It may need to be requested separately, but staff did not mention it (though trash from the terrace bin was removed regularly). **Requests** – A mini‑kitchen is missing (the space would allow it), and there is no air conditioning (not critical for us, but worth noting). **Service and organization** – Unfulfilled requests: twice asked to stretch the drying rope for clothes – both times promised but never done. **Infrastructure near the pool** – Almost all small umbrella holders are broken, and there are not enough large stationary ones. **No reception** – All questions are handled at the restaurant, and the staff lack training – they get a bit lost in unusual situations. **Restaurant and prices** – Prices are high for the quality (probably due to lack of nearby competition). Once, the pike had a suspicious smell (though the taste was okay). **Uniform breakfasts** – Daily, a few standard options are served, unchanged, with only the dessert varying each day. **Grounds and amenities** – Would like better lawn care along the paths (moss grows near them). The gate to the walking path is closed because of cows, so it has to be jumped over. A normal spring on the door could solve this.
