The Riverside House Hotel

“Basic”

The location was nice, but the front‑desk man who checked us in wasn’t particularly warm or friendly. I booked the room, but when my friends arrived later they were told they were sharing a family room, which wasn’t what I had booked. We had to return to reception to change it. When we went back, we waited about 10 minutes for help after asking twice. The lift stopped working when we returned in the evening, so my partner had to run up to the top floor to bring it down.

“Ok for one night”

The breakfast was very good. The bed was a bit hard and it was only a double even though it was advertised as a superior room. I didn’t like the lift, so I walked up to the 3rd floor.

“Very pleasant stay and the staff were lovely.”

The first room they assigned me was in the attic, tiny, musty, with paintwork on the window that needed replacing, and the lift was broken. They later moved me to a different room that was much better.

“A tale of two parts”

The breakfast, staff, and location were great; I’ll come again but will book a room in the main building. Our room was in an outbuilding that was damp, cold, and drafty, though the bed was very comfortable.

Stylish hotel. Very helpful staff who seem keen to help. Bed was comfy. Room was clean. Breakfast was very good and freshly made. Sash window not opening which means it was noisy Some heavy stumping from upstair till midnight and then again at 3 am
